The music office is open from 8-12 and 1-5 Monday through Friday.

Auditions and Scholarship Awards: All students entering a degree program in the Hayes School of Music must successfully complete an audition. Scholarships are awarded to students based on the results of their audition, and there is no separate application to be considered for one. All our 2023-24 audition days have concluded. To audition, please contact the applied faculty of their performance area to schedule an individual audition. Read more about the auditions here.

Attend our performances at the Broyhill Music Center and the Schaefer Center or view them via our Livestream. We present around 200 concerts and recitals a year, most free of charge!

Now in its 55th year, Cannon Music Camp is open to dedicated musicians who are rising high school freshmen to rising college freshmen.

Students of all majors can join ensembles in the Hayes School of Music, from the Marching Mountaineers and Basketball Bands to choirs and orchestra. Learn more about opportunities for music minors and non-majors.

The Community Music School offers private lessons, classes, and ensembles for youth and adults. We have programs in Boone, Hudson, and online.
