Expressive Arts Collective
As therapists, our professional work is to care for others, extending our energy to meet their needs, empathizing with their challenging circumstances and painful emotions. In this process, we may lose sight of our needs, neglect replenishment, and deplete our reserves. To maintain therapeutic effectiveness, we continually must restore our professional vitality.
Through a series of experiential sessions led by members of the Appalachian Expressive Arts Collective, this workshop will provide the opportunity to explore diverse ways to approach and develop a daily practice that will sustain our professional selves. Experienced teachers and therapists who are artists, arts therapists, and artists who use dreams and the creative process for personal and professional growth, the Expressive Arts Collective will guide us in the discovery of ways that we can nourish ourselves, prevent depletion, and remain vital and effective therapists across the span of our careers. |
