Duties: Depending on the candidate's primary instrument and background: assist with instrumental methods classes, assist with the marching band, assist with the concert band, assist with the computer-assisted instruction laboratory, assist with the administration of concert attendance.
Stipend: Stipends for nine-month contracts are $7,000.
Qualifications: Bachelor’'s degree in music and admission to the Cratis Williams Graduate School. Candidates for the music performance degree must audition.

Appalachian State University enrolls approximately 13,000 students. The Hayes School of Music consists of approximately 475 majors, 39 full-time faculty, 15 part-time instructors, and 14 graduate assistants. The Hayes School of Music offers the Bachelor of Music degree in music education, music therapy, performance, theory/composition, and sacred music; the Bachelor of Science degree in music industry studies; and the Master of Music degree in performance and music education. The Hayes School of Music is fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music. Boone is located in northwest North Carolina in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains. A year-round resort area, the town is within easy driving distance of Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and Charlotte.
