Biography/Resume: Bill Jones teaches trumpet and brass chamber music and performs with the faculty brass quintet.

Since studying with William Vacchiano at the Juilliard School (M.M.) Bill Jones has given over 3000 solo/chamber music performances in a career that has taken him across the United States, to Canada, and to Europe. He has served in both permanent and guest positions as either a visiting artist, trumpet instructor, or faculty performer at eleven different colleges and universities in the southeastern United States.  Solo performances have included performances with the Savannah Symphony, Greensboro Orchestra, Southeastern Music Center Festival Orchestra, and the Lexington Brass Band (also served as principal cornet and assistant principal cornet with LBB).

As an internationally published author his article on brass quintet music appears in the latest edition of the New Groves Dictionary of Music and Musicians.  He has written the Guide to Brass Chamber Music, the definitive reference for that genre (to be released in fall 2004). In collaboration with the American Brass Quintet, Jones and ABQ hornist David Wakefield are assembling a comprehensive listing of non-transcription brass quintet music that will appear at the ABQ web site and will be constantly updated by performers and composers.
