Scott Wynne is the director for the Gilley Recording Studio and instructor for the Music Industry Studies degree with a concentration in Recording and Production at the Mariam Cannon Hayes School of Music at Appalachian State University. Mr. Wynne is a recording engineer, music producer and composer whose commercial music credits include Seed of Faith (DVD), Kerrie Roberts’s EP Lose It, Michael Zager’s book Music Production, the 2005 Burlington Coat Factory Christmas television advertisements, the rock/reggae/funk band The People UpStairs (TPUS) premier CD Synchrofunkinicity. His classical CD recording credits include performances by Dr. Heather Coltman, Dr. Irena Koffman & Andre DeGroot, and also chamber ensembles directed by Arthur Weisburg. Currently, Mr. Wynne is working on composing and producing music for the independent movie tentatively titled, Stop; a full length R&B and trip-hop fusion CD with English recording artist, Leigh Houison; and a full length album for publishing companies of his original music composed over the past 4 years with the Florida Atlantic University group, RFE.
Scott Wynne received his M.M. in Music Composition in Media Writing and Production from the University of Miami in 2002, his B.A. in Music Composition and Theory from Eastern Kentucky University in 1999 and his A.A. in General Music from Edison Community College in 1997. Mr. Wynne was one of two graduate teaching assistants for the University of Miami’s Media Writing and Production program (2000-2002). His principle assignments were to teach the undergraduate technology courses as well as work with the graduate program’s students to ensure the main studios were in a constant state of operation for all students. Mr. Wynne was hired by Florida Atlantic University’s Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters' Eminent Scholar in the Performing Arts, Michael Zager, to assist in the creation of the highly successful Commercial Music program within the Department of Music at the School of the Arts (2002-2006). In addition to his normal teaching load, his responsibilities during his career span at Florida Atlantic University included developing curriculums within the Commercial Music Minor, Bachelors of Music, Masters of Arts and Masters of Science, directing the first student operated full service record label, Hoot/Wisdom Recordings, L.L.C. as its Faculty Advisor, and organizing the various Commercial Music forums and Engineering Workshops.
