Rosen Concert Hall

The Rosen Concert Hall is Equipped with a ProTools LE Digi002 Recording system which allows us to record all concert performances at 24 bits 96 kHz sampling rate. The Decca Tree is suspended from the ceiling joists and houses a modified configuration of an XY center pair of Neumann microphones and a DPA pair of spaced microphones. The Decca Tree configuration runs through a Millenia Media HV-3D microphone preamplifier and is converted to digital information through the DIGI 002's line inputs. As an option an analog snake is configured to work with the system to provide more microphone inputs for recording, PA, and monitor outputs for the concert hall. The system is setup with two Neutrik balanced patchbays to provide flexibility for the variety of concert performances and genres that make their way to our stage.

Soon to be added to this system is a Cat5 Extend-It KVM extension pack which will allow us to do all remote control mixing and monitoring from within the hall with a KVM system. The keyboard video and mouse(KVM) setup in the hall will be coupled with a Digidesign Control Surface which will allow the hall staff to handle all processing from the FOH position and be connected by only a single Cat5e cable and power strip. In addition to this feature, the 2007-08 year concerts wil have the ability to be web-broadcasted to reach the audience members who could not be at the performance. More information coming soon on this wonderful addition to the Hayes School of Music programming.

Funds generated from sessions for students, faculty and the general public help go towards the update, upkeep and general maintenance of the equipment and outboard processors necessary to maintain a high level recording facilty. A list of equipment is updated as frequently as possible and can be downloaded here. Any questions or concerns about particular listings or availability of different equipment can be directed to the Chief Recording Engineer, Mr. Scott Wynne.
